JARRED AND I MET IN NOVEMBER 2002 WHEN JARRED JUST MOVED TO OC FROM LA. ONE "GIRLS NIGHT OUT" TURNED INTO “GIRLS NIGHT OUT + JARRED” (lucky for him). UNEXPECTEDLY, WE WERE ATTACHED THE REST OF THE EVENING. I KNEW FROM THAT FIRST NIGHT HE WAS THE ONE! AFTER OUR FIRST DATE 2 WEEKS LATER, WE HAVE BEEN INSEPARABLE. NOW MARRIED WITH 2 BEAUTIFUL KIDS, WE ARE ENJOYING THE NEXT CHAPTER IN OUR LIVES.

Family Day at the Beach

It was a beautiful March weekend so we decided to spend a day at the beach. It wasn't Kai's first time at the beach, but it was his first time play in the sand now that he can crawl. It was neat watching him. He was cautious at first, but then he was all over the place.
This was Kai by the end of the day.

Below is a video of Kai playing in the sand.

Hanging out with Cousin Taylor

Kai was a little nervous in the beginning riding in the carousal. How cute - Taylor's hugging baby Kai.

Now Cousin Taylor is trying to give Kai kisses.

Kellee's Bridal Shower

Bridesmaids

Play Date

Jarred and I went to Palm Springs for Valentines Day while Kai spent an evening with a lady friend, Elle. She's so adorable. These were some pictures that were taken and from the looks of it, all Kai was focused on were Elle's socks.

Kai Throwing the Ball for the First Time

Jarred taught Kai how to throw a ball. This video was taken a while ago. He is better at throwing the ball further now, but he has no concept of aiming where he throws. All he cares about at this point is getting a reaction out of both of us.

Crawling

Around 7 months, Kai began crawling for the first time. This video was taken a few weeks after he started to crawl.

St. Louis

We went to a wedding back at STL for Tony and Beth's Wedding. (Tony is a good friend from College and former soccermate)
To the right is a picture of Kai sleeping in the an empty middle seat. LUCKY for us, the flight was empty. We were planning on carrying Kai on our lap but this worked out better. He's a lot more
mobile now so it worked out perfectly.

DRAMA: The airline lost our luggage so we had to wear the same clothes we flew in to the "After" Dinner Rehearsal Party.

Sal: Another close buddy of Jarred's and
also former soccermate. For old times sake, he thought it would be funny to wear his old soccer Louiville sweatsuit!

Before the Wedding the next day, we were able to sneak some time with Jarred's Best Friend Damon and his wife and daughter; Cecilia and Isabella. Our kids met for the first time!

Isabella kissing Kai Kai. So cute!

It was a nice trip but it was nice to go back home. Again - empty flight so we had a middle seat for Kai sit at.

UH OH!!!

I think I know what Kai's first word will be... "UH-OH". He heard Jarred and I saying it one day and tried to mimic the sound. Since then, we keep saying it so that he can repeat us - for pure "parent entertainment" purposes. Now when he sees me, he'll make the "uh-oh" sounds.

Can't SIT still, but can STAND still

These days, Kai has been so much fun. He loves to stand and walk when we hold his hands. I'm not kidding - this kid is strong. He does NOT want to sit or crawl no matter how much we try to train him. All he wants to do is grab our hands or legs for leverage and try to stand and walk. He's also at the point where he loves to explore everything around him. In other words, he's squirmy. Below is a picture of Kai jumping all over Jarred and plunging for anything he has his sights on. I'm afraid he may have an adventurous side to him. It's probably too early to tell. But he definately has an athletic coordination.

Jarred and I are enjoying parenthood. Becoming parents changed our lives. The wonderful thing is that we haven't decreased our social life severely; we just changed the way we socialize. We love taking him everywhere with us. For example, below is a shot of us having brunch at our friend Sabrina's house and we were amongst 3 other friends that day. It was a gloomy day, but we couldn't complain considering we had brunch next to the water at her house. Mainly, I am proud that we can still enjoy our individual lives as well. Jarred and I both enjoy our work and our friends. We have my mom and sister to thank for watching Kai on the weekends for us.

Kai's First Two Front Teeth

Around 6 months - Kai's two front teeth came out. It was almost a surprise because I was expecting the worst - Middle of the night cries, extreme salivating, cranky, diaper rashes, and fever. I don’t' mean to come off "boasting" of how great Kai is, BUT he was great! He did not have any of the symptoms I mentioned. The only indication I had was that he loved biting on his teethers or anything he can get his hands on. Only then did he drool excessively. I just noticed one day that he had 2 front bottom teeth - as if it grew over night. If you click on the picture below, it will enlarge the picture and you can catch a glimpse of it.

Kai LOVES his push car.

Big Boy Car Seat Now

I failed to mention that we switched Kai's carseat to a toddler carseat! This happened in November; around 5 month old. We decided to buy him a bigger seat since his feet were hanging off the infant seat. This should last him until he's a 4 years old - hopefully. The picture below was taken when we went to visit Santa. Needless to say, he was pooped.

I also changed his bassinet on the Bugaboo to a seat. Luckily, I can still recline it so that he can nap in it. Look at his little feet. = )

New Year's Eve

KAI'S FIRST NEW YEARS!
Kai is just about 7 months old and it was great to spend time with him this year. We kept it pretty low key this year. We had dinner wth Michelle and Monte, Lauren, Bo, and Caleb, and Kim and Gregg. Afterwards, we headed back to the house to put the kids to sleep - and played drinking games until 6am in the morning!! Jarred and Gregg were up til 8a! Not exactly how I've spend my New Year's Eve in the passed, but it was a great time. We made sure that we gave Kai a New Year's Kiss when the clock struck midnight.

Holiday Party at our House

Jarred and I thought it would be fun to have a Holiday Cocktail Party at our house this year. Guests brought their favorite appetizer dish, we had a "talking" mistletoe, Christmas music was in the background.. and ofcourse cocktails.

Merry Christmas at the Goldberg Home!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Kai's First Chrismas - around 6 1/2 old. Almost 7 months.
We had the family at the house for Christmas Day this year. I tried to revive my childhood memories of Christmas Day - which consisted of left over ham, pandesal (filipino bread), and hot filipino cocoa. I added other filipino dishes to the menu. It was a nice combo of flip-american food all day long.

Auntie Crystal bought this puzzle mat for Kai. He enjoyed it. The presents behind him by the tree are ALL Kai's. As you can see, he was spoiled this year.

It was so much fun watching Kai open his presents..........

........But he was more interested in putting them in his mouth.....

......especially the wrapping paper........

He likes to grab things from my hands!

Christmas Eve at Lola's House

It was way passed Kai's bedtime. He was tired most the evening. He had really cute black shoes on that he kicked off. Kai is ready to get in his jammies in this picture.

First Santa Visit

Lola and Kai
Family Shot in front of Santa's House..

This is just a photo that my sister took of him with her camera. The actual picture turned out great. Jarred was on the side making him laugh. Kai sat on Santa's lap with no problem. He was intrigued by the old man with the white beard. haha.

Jon Azu

One of Jarred's closest friends that lives in New York was in town for business. He drove down to see the Kai-meister.
