This is a picture early Friday morning June 1. I was scheduled to be induced but I already started feeling contractions the night before starting 1a in the morning. So I held off to see if I'd dilate on my own. We waited for 2 hours before we decided to gradually take small doses of the medicine that induces.

Then the pain started to kick in. I was adamant about getting an epidural at 5 cm. I really didn't want a high dosage because I wanted to feel it when I were ready to start pushing.

That idea didn't last too long. I think I got the epidural shot at around 4 cm. barely made it! The funny thing is that the anesthesiologist in this picture is my neighbor Allan 3 doors down. Jarred met him once before and knew that he was the anesthesiologist for the hospital. We actually pulled out of the driveway the same time and saw each other. What a coincidence that he would be the Dr. to medicate me......

It took longer than we anticipated for me to dilate so I didn't start pushing until midnight (June 2) Jarred was ecstatic knowing that we were going to have our baby on his birthday.

I tried to push for 2 hours and it didn't work. They had to perform a C-section because Kai was too big. This is us in the operating room.

I don't think I've ever been this exhausted my entire life! But we still celeberated Jarred's and Kai's B-day in our room!

I had 4 days to stay in the hospital but they released me by day 3.
